Your first discovery flight: a calm, practical guide

What a first flight can feel like, what to bring, and the questions worth asking.

Start with curiosity

A discovery flight is a chance to see the aircraft, meet an instructor, and learn what training could look like. You do not need prior experience to ask thoughtful questions or take a first step.

What the day can include

Plan for an arrival conversation, a simple aircraft introduction, a weather-and-safety discussion, and a flight experience shaped around your comfort level. Weather, aircraft condition, and operational decisions always come first.

Questions worth bringing

Ask about current cost, duration, what is included, rescheduling, instructor availability, and the next step if you want to continue. A request is not a booking until ITP confirms the details.

Take this into your conversation.

Write down your goal, what you already know and what you need the school to confirm. Leave with a clear next step, not an assumption.
