For the pilot who still looks up

It’s been a while.
The sky still calls.

Life gets busy. Flying takes a back seat. If you’re thinking about coming back, start with a conversation about where you left off and what you’d like flying to look like now.

Familiar ground. A fresh chapter.

Your reason to fly

You can begin with the experience you have.

You may remember the first time you flew solo, a favorite airport or the quiet satisfaction of a good landing. Time away doesn’t take that story from you.

For pilots returning after a break, refreshing recency or rebuilding confidence before flying more regularly.

Your flight path

Find your way back, one step at a time.

The right return plan depends on your certificate, time away, recent experience and intended flying.

  1. 01 / YOUR NEXT STEP

    Talk through your history

Bring your logbook and describe the flying you used to do, how long you have been away and your goals now.

    Start with your story
  2. 02 / YOUR NEXT STEP

    Review what has changed

Discuss applicable recency, documentation, medical and review requirements, plus systems or procedures that need refreshing.

    Review your starting point
  3. 03 / YOUR NEXT STEP

    Rebuild in the aircraft

Work with an instructor on the skills and decisions that need attention, without assuming a fixed number of refresher flights.

    Get to know the fleet
  4. 04 / YOUR NEXT STEP

    Keep a rhythm going

After the appropriate training and requirements, discuss regular practice, rental qualification and the kind of trips you want to make.

    Plan continued proficiency

How much refresher training will I need?

That depends on your experience, time away, intended flying and proficiency. Discuss an initial assessment and update the plan with your instructor as you go.

What if my paperwork or recency is out of date?

Tell the school before arranging a flight. Review applicable certificate, medical, recency and flight-review requirements with the appropriate instructor or medical professional.

Can I return in a familiar aircraft?

Share what you flew previously. The team can discuss aircraft fit, differences training, qualification and current availability.

What if I’m not confident yet?

Say so. Building familiarity and practicing decisions with an instructor are useful parts of returning to flying. Your plan should reflect your present skills and comfort.
