Flight training FAQs
A little clarity goes a long way. Here are useful starting points before you talk with an instructor.
Do I need flying experience?
No. A discovery flight introduces the aircraft and the training experience. It is a practical first step for people who are curious but not ready to commit to a program.
How long will training take?
Frequency, preparation, weather, aircraft availability and proficiency all affect the timeline. Discuss a realistic schedule with your instructor instead of treating a minimum as a completion promise.
What does training cost?
Aircraft and instruction are only part of the budget. Include tests, medical certification where applicable, equipment and additional training. Use the planner to explore assumptions, then obtain current school rates.
Can I train around work?
Discuss when you are consistently available and how much preparation you can do between lessons. The team can help you consider a workable training rhythm.
What about medical certification?
Requirements depend on your intended flying and individual circumstances. Ask an Aviation Medical Examiner about the appropriate process before making major commitments. Do not send medical information through this site.
Is a career outcome guaranteed?
No. Certificates and ratings are qualifications, not a promise of employment, earnings or a completion date. A personal plan should account for those uncertainties.
